Player Ratings From Inter Miami's Demented Match vs. FC Cincinnati
+ Soccer is deeply unhinged.

Inter Miami lose their first game since May 29th with a 6-1 loss against FC Cincinnati.
There aren’t many words to sum up the night, truly.
Coming off back-to-back road games against Nashville SC and Charlotte FC, Miami appeared to come into the match with a lack of excitement.
The game felt uninspired and while the players may say otherwise, fatigue and maybe some complacency started to set in.
While it’s frustrating to lose in such a manner, Miami has performed remarkably well up to this point and is still in a comfortable playoff position. Additionally, the team is also in contention for the Supporter’s Shield, loss aside.
Teams will, inevitably, drop games in MLS.
It’s how they pick themselves after a loss that defines the great ones.
Here are Player Ratings from Miami’s match vs. FC Cincinnati.
Goalkeeping, Defense:
🧤 Drake Callender - 6.3: Really the only solid player (I use that loosely) throughout the match. Had some good saves, but…it is what it is.
🍝 Franco Negri - 5.5: Didn’t bring as much going forward as I had hoped, but he was defending most of the time.
🏋️ Serhiy Kryvtsov - 6: Well, he scored.
🧮 Sergio Busquets - 3: Maybe this was his way of getting some extended rest, I don’t know.
🎻 Marcelo Weigandt - 5.6: Weigandt getting a yellow card. Another day ending in ‘Y.’
Midfield:
💪 Benjamin Cremaschi - 6.7: Held his own and attempted to progress the ball forward, but, it really wasn’t clicking for anyone. Congrats on the Olympic call-up, though!
☀️ Yannick Bright - 6.3: Had a couple of nifty tackles, but the midfield was overrun by Cincinnati’s numerical advantage.
🐞 Federico Redondo - 6.4: Wasn’t the type of game for his skill set, honestly.
Attack:
🥨 Julian Gressel - 6.5: It wasn’t that Gressel had a particularly poor game, it’s just that the midfield couldn’t quite get the ball to the forward line, thus leaving the German-American effectively useless. Got a solid assist, though!
🛎️ Leonardo Campana - 6.3: Had some solid defensive hustle. These aren’t the words I should be typing about a center forward.
🪽 Robert Taylor - 6: Was probably the most creative player in the final third for Miami early on, but fizzled as the match went on.
Substitutes:
💈 David Ruiz - N/A: The game was over by the time he was subbed on.
🐥 Noah Allen - N/A: The game was over by the time he was subbed on.
🍳 Ian Fray - N/A: The game was over by the time he was subbed on. But, he brought some dynamism on the right flank.
Coaching:
🔢 Tata Martino - 5: As I said earlier, perhaps some complacency was afoot when managing the match. Though Busquets has done a decent job so far at center back, perhaps switching to a back five, or bringing in Ian Fray earlier would’ve solved some issues. Through the summer stretch, Tata has done quite well, and one game doesn’t change that. Martino and his coaching staff will still have some work to do!

Yeah it was tougher but I do think they got a little over confident. They’ve performed admirably up until this though. They just need to shake it off and come back stronger.
Glad wasn't watching it. Was watching Copa. Uruguay moves on, Brazil out. Enjoy the week off. Messi and Suarez should be back by the 20th, if not the 17th, both at home. Play Cincinnati again Aug. 24 at home, get even then. Messi and Suarez won't waste time with the Olympics in Paris. Others should think twice about going to Paris. Got case order of Mas+ today, it's OK, got to be chilled.
