Welcome back, Ian Fray!

So, Inter Miami is actually pretty good.
Like, really good.
Not to say they weren’t before, but there were questions surrounding the team’s ability to get results once Messi and Co. were away at Copa América.
Two games in, and so far it looks like the Herons have cracked the code.
Not only were the men in pink able to beat the reigning MLS Cup Champions by playing a brand of football one might compare to watching paint dry, but they did it in a way that earned them three points.
No, it wasn’t flashy, nor particularly cohesive, but it got the job done. During this Copa América summer stretch, it’s important that the club maintains consistency at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The effort put out by Tata Martino’s starting eleven was commendable. Ian Fray getting on the scoresheet was heart-warming, and Inter Miami gaining all three points was certainly worth the price of admission.
Here are Player Ratings from Inter Miami’s win vs. the Crew.
Goalkeeping, Defense:
🧤 Drake Callendar - 8.5: Came up with some great saves to keep Miami in it. Glad to see his form returned.
💨 Jordi Alba - 8: Ran his legs off and orchestrated everything quite well from left wing-back.
🐥 Noah Allen - 7.3: Did well, but got absolutely rinsed on Columbus’ first goal.
🧮 Sergio Busquets - 8.4: Think Tata summed it up well in his post-match conference.
🏋️ Serhiy Kryvtsov - 8: Played well alongside Busquets. Was great in the air.
🍳 Ian Fray - 9: Welcome back, Ian!
Midfield:
💪 Benjamin Cremaschi - 8.3: Was an offensive thorn in the Crew’s side, put in great hustle, and showed why Miami values him so highly.
☀️ Yannick Bright - 8.6: Best game in an Inter Miami kit so far from the Super Draft pick. Loved to see him disrupt the Crew midfield whenever he got the opportunity.
🥨 Julian Gressel - 8.5: Glad to see him back to his best. A goal and an assist in his last two games. Not bad!
Attack:
🛎️ Leonardo Campana - 9: Got on the scoresheet and pressed the Crew’s backline nicely.
🪽 Robert Taylor - 7.5: Didn’t quite get into the flow offensively, but his work rate paired well with Campana and Gressel.
Substitutes:
⛵ Ryan Sailor - 8.3: Tata specifically put him in the game to deal with Columbus’ long balls towards the back post. He did well and helped earn Miami those precious three points.
🦁 Leo Afonso - 6.5: Didn’t quite have the magic seen in Philadelphia, but appreciated his cameo off the bench.
🦒 Shanyder Borgelin - 6.5: I’m just glad to see him back in the first team, tbh.
Coaching:
🔢 Tata Martino - 9: The formation and subs were spot on. Miami had to suffer in this match, and they suffered well. When the season comes to an end and the Supporter’s Shield is close, these are the games that the Herons need to win in the long run.

Great team effort from everybody. I did not know Miami had such a talented young fellow in Ian Fray. He is gonna be an absolute baller. Was he injured when he got off or was it just a cramp? Will he be available for the next match?
The boys did great! So happy for Ian Fray and Drake was back to his usual self. Great effort from everyone.
