Inter Miami’s lackluster run of form continued on Wednesday as they fought to a 3-3 draw against the San Jose Earthquakes.
In what was a wide-open game from both sides, the Herons got off to a good start with Maxi Falcon opening the scoring within 30 seconds. However, just as quickly as the scoring started, the men in pink conceded, with Chicho Arango getting one back for the visitors just seconds later.
The two sides would continue to trade blows, which saw the game ultimately end in a draw.
With Orlando City up next tomorrow, the Herons will look to get back to winning ways.
Here are Player Ratings from Miami’s match vs. San Jose.
Goalkeeping
🧤 Oscar Ustari - 6: Probably should’ve had some better saves in the match. Also played the misplaced pass to Allen, which resulted in San Jose’s opener.
Defense:
💨 Jordi Alba - 8.2: Congrats on the new contract! Also got two assists during the match.
🐥 Noah Allen - 7: Not the best game from the youngster, but, being the youngster defender on the backline, he deserves some slack. He’ll learn and grow.
🦅 Maxi Falcon - 7.4: Got his first goal in Inter Miami colors and had a good showing. Ended the match with five clearances, two interceptions, and two recoveries.
🎻 Marcelo Weigandt - 6.2: Didn’t particularly stand out.
Midfield:
💪 Benjamin Cremaschi - 6.3: Just a ‘meh’ game from the Academy product.
🧮 Sergio Busquets - 7.6: Another solid game from the Spaniard. Finished the game with 16 touches, five recoveries, and won 83% of his ground duels.
🍝 Yannick Bright - 7.2: I do think Bright and Busquets are like yin and yang in a sense that if one is on the field, the other has to be.
💣 Telasco Segovia - 7: Again, the midfield attackers weren’t very involved in this match - the game ghosted them, really.
Attack:
🐐 Lionel Messi - 8: Messi never really has bad games, just ones where it doesn’t quite click for him, but still usually the best player on the pitch.
🧉Tadeo Allende - 8.5: Welcome back early season Allende! Glad to see him get on the scoresheet.
Substitutes:
🧙 Baltasar Rodríguez - 7.3: Got the game-tying assist, but unfortunately picked up an injury after that.
🙏 Allen Obando - 6.3: Came on only after Rodriguez was forced off. I don’t think Mascherano would’ve played him had the Argentine been fit.
🧔♂️ Gonzalo Lujan - 6.4: Probably preferred at right-back over Weigandt. But still, Ian Fray does offer more going forward.
🇵🇾 David Martinez - N/A: Didn’t play long enough for a rating.
🐞 Federico Redondo - N/A: Didn’t play long enough for a rating.
Coaching:
🔢 Javier Mascherano - 6.8: Slightly better attacking showing from the side, but still glaring holes in the midfield that made it too easy for San Jose to get forward.
Thoughts on the match? How do you think Miami will do tomorrow?
i cant agree on Weigant not standing out
