Just a note to say I appreciate your brevity amidst the seemingly ceaseless unfocused, regurgitated, and negative discourse from like the likes of Instagram, Reddit, and X.

I look forward to the season (especially with this tour at a close) with your insights to accompany!

Taylor and Gressel also seemed to be enjoying themselves in Japan going by their Instagrams. I'm sure the players were tired but they definitely weren't miserable.

Yeah! Taylor is a huge Anime guy so I'm sure he was excited, haha! Thanks for reading, Riley!

Aw this is great to hear. The one thing I was worried about is the mental health of the younger players but Messi is really good at keeping morale high. I hope Busi is okay. The most important thing is that morale is high despite some of the more hyperbolic press. Can I also just say that as a fellow journalism major and writer, you are doing such a good job of actually reporting all sides of this story, and all stories about Inter Miami.

Hey Gina! Always a lovely chatting with you in these comments! Yes, I was super encouraged to see the young guys be in high spirits. I know being in this high pressure situation could dull their shine but they seem very together. As far as Busquets goes, I'm hoping it's just a sprain. It looked nasty but he was able to walk under his own power. Lastly, thank you for the kind words! I've been covering this team since 2020 and everything seems to come at an angle. There needs to be fair and balanced coverage that isn't binary, because life isn't binary.

Its obvious the players are going to say they enjoyed it and that it was a great experience but I honestly think they mean it and it's that experience on and off the field that made this tour a little less negative

Yeah! I know the PR aspect would probably have them say they enjoyed it, but the players have been posting on social media right now and all of them are happy with where they were able to travel to. Thanks for reading!

The ratings are pretty much in line with how I saw the game. I have been very pleased with the progression of Noah Allen, he is much more confident and comfortable on the ball, but unfortunately, I don't think he is good enough to be picked in a fully fit IM squad.

Do we have any indication as to how serious the Busquets injury is or how long he will be out? The tackle looked very scary but at least he limped his way to the sideline and tried to come back on. Also, any news on the new CB Freire? Is he injured? Because I don't have any other plausible explanation as to why he is still not on the squad sheet to get even a few minutes

Hey Bassam! Always a pleasure talking to you in these comments! And yeah I think with Noah, I feel like he's progressed enough to be a starter. But I can also see him be a rotation player when Nicolas Freire is fit. As far as Busquets goes, I'm encouraged that he walked off under his own power! It could just be a ankle sprain that keeps him out a few weeks. We will know more soon when the team touches down in Miami.
